Privacy policy

Effective October 21, 2026.

ComicDuo is a comic and manga reader for iPhone, iPad, and iPhone Duo, published by Fabio Maraschi (FJM Systems LLC), 51 Pleasant St #913, Malden, MA 02148. This policy covers the app and the comicduo.app websites.

Data ComicDuo collects

None. The App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected.” ComicDuo has no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDK. The app does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

Files you open

CBZ, CBR, PDF, and image folders you import stay on your device, or they stay in the location you picked (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, or another file provider) through a security-scoped bookmark. ComicDuo never uploads those files. Copies kept inside the app are excluded from iCloud Backup where the system allows it.

iCloud sync

If you are signed into iCloud, ComicDuo syncs your library between your devices through your private CloudKit database (container iCloud.com.fjm.comicduo). What syncs: book titles, series and issue numbers, page counts, reading progress, collections, reader settings, and the list of books counted toward the trial. Comic files, covers, and file locations stay on each device. That database belongs to your Apple ID and is stored by Apple; ComicDuo cannot read it. Turn sync off by turning off iCloud for ComicDuo in Settings. To delete the synced data, open Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage (or Manage Account Storage), choose ComicDuo, and delete its data.

Your servers

If you add a Komga, Kavita, or OPDS server, ComicDuo talks only to the address you entered. Reading progress for books from Komga or Kavita is sent back to that server. Passwords and API keys are stored in the Keychain and sync only through your own iCloud Keychain. Nothing about your servers is sent to ComicDuo.

Starter shelf

The app can download comics ComicDuo has the rights to publish, starting with Pepper&Carrot by David Revoy (CC BY 4.0), from cdn.comicduo.app. Like any web server, that host and its providers (Cloudflare for the network, Railway for hosting) keep short-lived request logs: IP address, time, file requested, and app version. These logs are deleted automatically within 30 days. ComicDuo uses them only to keep the service running and secure, does not link them to you or combine them with other data, and does not sell or share them.

Purchases

ComicDuo Pro is bought through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment; ComicDuo never sees your name, Apple ID, or payment details. The app checks your purchase on the device. The five-book trial is counted on your device and, if sync is on, in your private iCloud database; it involves no purchase and nothing is sent to ComicDuo.

Crash reports

Crash reports go to Apple only if you choose to share them with app developers in Settings. ComicDuo does not ship its own crash reporter.

Websites

comicduo.app uses no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party scripts or fonts. The same providers keep the same request logs described above, deleted automatically within 30 days.

Children

ComicDuo does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that collects new data would also change the App Store privacy label first.
